Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs)
1) Show proficiency in three areas of chemistry. All students must be proficient in medicinal chemistry and two other areas that include physical, organic, analytical, and inorganic.
2) Be able to demonstrate an understanding of chosen research field of specialization
3) Be successful and effective in oral communication of research performed and will be able to explain its significance
4) Be able to effectively articulate their chosen research area and successfully defend their research in front of a critical audience
5) Be able to conduct experiments particular to their research field
6) Be able to devise and plan experiments independently, in their chosen area of research.
7) Be able to lead a discussion group discussing literature topics in the major field of specialization.
8) Be able to teach an undergraduate recitation section and/or mentor an undergraduate or junior graduate student in the laboratory setting, in their chosen area of research specialization
9) Be able to create an independent idea outside of their chosen research area and successfully defend it in front of a critical audience
10) Demonstrate critical thinking skills
