1) Students will demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to understand issues and debates around qualitative research methodology.
2) Students will demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to understand the strengths and weaknesses of two major qualitative methodologies and their applicability with regard to particular research questions.
3) Students will demonstrate knowledge and skills so that they can conceptualize and actualize qualitative research in a broad range of research projects relevant to varying disciplines and field of study.
4) Students will demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to conduct in-depth interviews, focus group interviews, and conduct participant observation in a range of sites relevant to the research.
5) Students will demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to report the results of qualitative research through strong oral and written communication.
