Gifted Education Advanced Certificate

Our advanced certificate program in gifted education is for you if you are interested in unlocking the potential and addressing the specific needs of high ability students of all backgrounds; in becoming a leader for gifted programming in your school or district; or in enhancing your general education teaching repertoire with creative strategies to differentiate instruction and adapt curriculum for the benefit of ALL students. Our program is aligned with the National Association for Gifted Children Teacher Preparation Standards and with New York State Education Department requirements.

Gifted Education: Certification Track
Required Core (12 credits)
Optional Course (1 credit)
Course culminates in a project within the student’s practice. Additional Requirements (0-3 credits)
Requirement waived if student has completed NYSED Students with Disabilities Requirement. Total Credit Hours: 12-16
3.0 GPA required Gifted Education: Non-Certification Track
Required Core (12 credits)
Optional Course (1 credit)
Course culminates in a project within the student’s practice. Total Credit Hours: 12-13
3.0 GPA required Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs)
