Biomedical Engineering MS

The Biomedical Engineering MS program offers a flexible, research-oriented curriculum that delves into advanced biomedical engineering principles. This program caters to students with a research-oriented mindset, allowing them the flexibility to explore various subjects before honing in on their specialization. By selecting their preferred topics, students can embark on advanced research in their chosen field. This degree gives graduates a competitive edge for laboratory positions in academia or industry, enhances their skill set and knowledge base for medical or dental school, and provides a stepping stone toward pursuing a doctoral program in biomedical engineering or related fields in engineering and biomedicine.​​​​​​​

Electives & Culminating Experience (24 credits)


Electives


Number of elective credits may vary depending on choice made to complete the culminating experience. Be sure to complete enough elective credit to reach 30 minimum total credit hours. 

  • Select from any graduate level Biomedical Engineering (BE) courses and other School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS) courses with approval from your academic advisor and Director of Graduate Studies (DGS).
  • A minimum of 12 credits must be from the Biomedical Engineering (BE) department, including BE 501   and BE 502  . More credits from BE are required based on the culminating experience chosen.
  • A maximum of 6 credits of BE 596  and/or BE 598  will be allowed. 

Culminating Experience: Exam, Project or Thesis (0-6 credits)


Total Credit Hours: 30
