The Latin Education: Adolescence Master’s program is for you, if you intend to teach Latin particularly in public schools. The program coursework includes current theories and their implications for teaching methods, materials and assessment.

II. Initial/Professional Curriculum
Required Core (30-33 credits)
Major Area Required Courses (6 credits)
Major Area Content Electives (12 credits)
Select 12 credits from:
- Graduate level, target language / culture course in Latin (CL), or a course from the Department of Linguistics (LIN) with advisor approval.
Culminating Experience: Portfolio, Project or Thesis (0-6 credits)
Total Initial/Professional Curriculum Credits: 48-57

III. Professional Curriculum
Major Area Requirements (18 credits)
Major Area Elective (12 credits)
Select 12 credits from:
- Graduate level, target language / culture course in Latin (CL), or a course from the Department of Linguistics (LIN) or the Graduate School of Education (GSE) with advisor approval.
Culminating Experience: Portfolio, Project or Thesis (0-6 credits)
Additional Requirements
Required for Conferral of Degree:
- Proof of completion of Dignity for All Students Act (DASA) workshop
- Proof of completion of NYSED Students with Disabilities Requirement
- Proof of valid NYS Initial Teacher Certificate
Total Professional Curriculum Credits: 30-36
