Nutrition MS

This School of Public Health and Health Professions degree program will prepare you for advanced professional programs, clinical research or careers in industries such as food, hospitality, health facilities, government or private consulting. Students learn research skills in a dynamic, Research 1 environment, as well as functions of nutrients and other dietary constituents and food, diets, and supplements. The program focuses on nutrition and disease, as well as nutrition intervention and policies.

Electives and Culminating Experience (19 credits)

Number of elective credits may vary depending on choice made to complete the culminating experience. 

Select from eligible 500 or high level courses in the following departments:

  • Nutrition (NTR) excluding Clinical Nutrition specific courses
  • Exercise Science (ES) excluding Athletic Training specific courses
  • Physiology (PGY)
  • Psychology (PSY)
  • Community Health and Health Behavior (CHB)
  • Epidemiology (EEH)

Culminating Experience: Exam, Project or Thesis (5-6 credits)


Total Credit Hours: 36
