Rehabilitation Counseling Advanced Certificate

Rehabilitation counseling is an exciting, rapidly growing profession, and UB’s program is one of the oldest and best of its kind in the United States. We are hands-on; the counseling skills and rehabilitation techniques learned in the classroom are practiced and evaluated in the field at rehabilitation agencies. Rehabilitation counseling graduates hold leadership positions around the country and work with the psychological, social, vocational, and educational problems of people disabled by physical, mental, emotional, or social conditions. In addition, this program is offered in an online format to those living outside the Buffalo, New York, area.

Category D:


Students with a Master’s degree in Counseling that includes one integrated or two separate grad courses with primary focus on Theories of Counsling AND Techniques of counseling

Category E:


Students with a Doctorate in Counseling or Rehabilitation Counseling that includes one integrated or two separate graduate courses with the primary focus on Theories of Counsling AND Techniques of counseling

Total Credit Hours: 18


3.0 GPA required

 

Category R:


Students with a Master’s, Specialist or Doctoral degree in one of 13 qualifying majors (as identified by the CRCC) can take the certification exam after completing a minimum of 21 credits - 27 credits.

General Study category


Students who do not intend to become certified as a CRC may choose from available coursework for general study in rehabilitation counseling.
