Quality and Safety in Healthcare Micro-Credential

Promoting quality outcomes for patients is a core value for all healthcare professionals. This micro-credential provides an opportunity for DNP and MS Graduate nursing students to gain knowledge and skills of concepts, strategies, and processes related to quality and safety in healthcare.

Course Requirements


Quality and Safety in Healthcare Micro-Credential Core (3 credits)


Additional Requirements


  1. Complete select Institute for Healthcare Improvement modules as required in NGC 634.
  2. Satisfactory complete the quality improvement proposal required in NGC 634.
  3. View two videos related to quality or safety as found on the Institute for Healthcare Improvement website. The student will then submit a Know-Want-Learn-Analyze-Reflect (KWLA+R) reflection paper, a metacognition strategy for learning.
  4. Develop a short video using the Pecha Kucha method of presentation demonstrating application of quality and safety concepts.
