Nutrition Minor

Admission Criteria

  • Complete at least one semester at UB
  • Minimum overall GPA 2.000

Current UB students wishing to add or change their minor to Nutrition, submit the Undergraduate Major/Minor Change Request Form.

Course Requirements

Nutrition Core (8 credits)

Two Nutrition Specific Electives (5-9 credits)

Two Other Electives (6-9 credits)

Total Credits Required for Minor: 19-23

Total Credit Hours Required represents the minimum credits needed to complete this program, and may vary based on a number of circumstances. This chart should not be used for financial aid purposes.

Academic Requirements

Students must achieve a C or better in all courses that apply towards the Nutrition minor.

Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of the Nutrition minor, student will have an understanding of the role that nutrition plays in human health and disease, the basic functions of nutrition in the human body, the ways in which nutrition status is assessed, the changing role of nutrition across the lifespan, and the major dietary sources of essential and non-essential nutrients in our diet.
