Anthropology Minor


Admission Criteria


Current UB students seeking admission to the Anthropology minor should complete the Undergraduate Major/Minor Change Request Form.

Course Requirements


At least four courses (a minimum of 12 credits) must be upper division, 300 or 400 level APY courses.

Anthropology Core (18-21 credits)


Select one focus area from the following five choices: General Anthropology, Archaeology, Cultural Anthropology, Biological Anthropology, Medical Anthropology.

General Anthropology (21 credits)


Archaeology (18 credits)


Cultural Anthropology (18 credits)


Biological Anthropology (18 credits)


Medical Anthropology (21 credits)


Total Credits Required for Minor: 18-21

Learning Outcomes


Upon successful completion of all requirements, the student will have knowledge:

  • To display sophisticated knowledge of core concepts, theories, and methods in cultural anthropology, biological anthropology and/or anthropological archaeology
