SOC 294LR - Basic Statistics for Social Sciences This course introduces students to the vocabulary, concepts, and statistical techniques used by quantitative social scientists to describe and test hypotheses about the social world. Students will learn how to (1) describe data distributions, (2) formulate and test research hypotheses, (3) describe and probe the relationship between two or more factors, characteristics, or events in the social world, and (4) interpret and evaluate published statistics.
