ART 308LAB - Drawing II: Material & Mark-Making


Second semester of a two-semester sequence of drawing courses focusing on the language, materials and concepts of drawing as foundation for all the visual arts. Emphasizes idea generation as a formal and conceptual process, from the thought in the mind to the gesture on the page to a fully articulated image. Students investigate the translation that occurs when representing ideas through a variety of drawing tools, materials and mark making. Topics covered include narrative sequencing, mapping, and scale. Projects are structured to make visible the internal world of emotions, imagination, memory and opinion. There may be a class fee assessed to your student account.
