BE 311LLB - Biomedical Engineering Cellular and Molecular Lab


One of two courses intended to expose junior-level students to BE lab techniques and analysis procedures. The lab provides hands-on experience with cell culture technology with emphasis on the principles and practices of initiation, cultivation, maintenance, preservation of cell lines and applications. Biochemical and biophysical characteristics of cells in culture. Analysis of cell viability, growth and proliferation. Basic training in microscopy, spectrophotometry, and immunological methods. The lectures will focus on background material for the lab exercises as well as provide a forum for discussion of current research in BE. Please be advised that this course requires an additional lab fee. This fee will cover consumables and equipment needed for all lab coursework and projects.
