AAS 128SEM - Public Policies & Social Justice In the United States, public policy at every level of government shapes and structures political, economic, social, and cultural life. Public policies are intended to deliver public goods, whether in the area of economic opportunity and development, protection of civil and human rights, education, etc. The question remains: how effective are U.S. public policies and practices at delivering public goods to all communities, especially those communities that remain on the margins of society. This class will focus on current policies relating to public assistance, housing, education, and reproductive health policies.
