AS 380SEM - Language and Culture of China

This course provides an overview of language and culture of China. Through lectures, readings, class discussions, assignments, the course introduces: the varieties of Chinese language, minority languages in China, Chinese religions, Chinese cuisine, Chinese education system and Chinese customs and taboos. Contemporary Chinese popular culture will also be introduced, and relevant issues will be addressed. Taught in English. No prerequisite is needed. This course is the same as CHI 380 and course repeat rules will apply.
