CSE 469LEC - Introduction to Data Mining This course introduces fundamental techniques in data mining, i.e., the techniques that extract useful knowledge from a large amount of data. Topics include data preprocessing, exploratory data analysis, association rule mining, clustering, classification and anomaly detection. Students are expected to gain the skills to formulate data mining problems, solve the problems using data mining techniques and interpret the output.

Requisites: Pre-Requisite:CSE 250 and (MTH 411 or EAS 305 or STA 301 or CE 305 or EE 305 or CIE 308 ) and MTH 309 and Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Bioinformatics majors only. Students must complete a mandatory advisement session with their faculty advisor.
