MDI 493LEC - Materials Design Laboratory I This capstone course integrates theoretical, computational, and experimental modes of inquiry. Working in teams, students will study several material systems modules (3 per semester), and systematically investigate the characterization, structure, and function of these systems by performing experiments, studying datasets, and running simulations. Students will write both shorter and longer reports, and give oral presentations on their findings. A recurring theme of the course is the connection between materials systems and their social and environmental impact.
