MT 411LLB - Clinical Hematology Hematology is a study of blood and its components: blood cells and platelets, hemoglobin, blood proteins and bone marrow. MT 411 will include the study of the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of related diseases such as anemia, leukemia, and lymphomas. The lecture focuses on the components of blood and their specific role, hematopoiesis and the incidence, etiology, diagnosis and treatment of hematologic disorders. The laboratory complements the lecture and provides the opportunity to develop a working knowledge of the basis for hematologic laboratory testing, the development of the technical skills for the performance of a variety of laboratory procedures and the interpretation of laboratory results. Case studies will also be used for the clinical application of the material Registration in MT 411 is limited to MT accepted majors only. There is a fee associated with this course.
