HIS 225LEC - France: History since 1815 This course examines the emergence of Modern France from the fall of Napoleon and the Congress of Vienna in 1815 to the present. It assesses the challenges of national integration and the transformations of French society and economy in the 19th and 20th centuries. The course also follows the rise of France as colonial power and its role in the two World Wars, as well as the impact of decolonization processes and France¿s complex alignment with the new Europe after 1945.
