Honors College Overview

The Honors College’s enriching and individualized curriculum spans a student’s undergraduate career and offers a small college experience within a large research university, fostering leadership, independence, creativity, undergraduate research, global perspectives and civic engagement.

The Honors College offers three comprehensive options for academically talented students: the Honors College for incoming first year students, the Advanced Honors Program for upper-division current UB and transfer students in Buffalo, and the Honors College Singapore. Students accepted to each program receive special benefits, allowing them to create educational experiences unique to their individual interests.

For Honors scholars who enter as a first year student in Buffalo, the Honors Colloquium provides a venue for service learning and civic engagement while Honors seminars offer an intimate setting for meaningful faculty-student interaction and rich discussion. As students continue their journey through Honors, they are encouraged to challenge themselves with rigorous coursework and to make the most of experiential learning like research, internships, and study abroad.

Beginning in 2023, the Honors College will expand to UB’s Singapore campus with a program tailored to the college career paths of students enrolled there.

Honors College Scholarships

The Honors College offers several scholarship awards for prospective and enrolled Honors Scholars.
