**Students in the combined Anthropology BA/MA program may satisfy one elective requirement with a Medical Anthropology Elective taken at the graduate level.

Total Credit Hours Required represents the minimum credits needed to complete this program, and may vary based on a number of circumstances. This should not be used for financial aid purposes.
Academic Requirements
- Minimum grader of 2.0 overall.
- Minimum grade of C- must be earned in all APY courses counting towards the major.
The joint BA/MA program is designed to be completed in ten semesters. Students should take at least one graduate-level course in Anthropology during their seventh semester, and they should enroll entirely in graduate-level courses thereafter. Students enrolled in the joint program are exempt from the major requirement to take APY 401LEC - Theory in Anthropology , since they are required to take an equivalent course at the graduate level.
Program Honors
Honors in Anthropology is achieved by maintaining a GPA of at least 3.500 in the major and satisfactorily completing a two-semester research project (enrollment in three credits of APY 499 for each semester) through intensive consultation with a thesis advisor and two more faculty members. Students must also meet the remaining criteria outlined in the Academic Honors policy. Students who successfully complete the honors program and meet the criteria will have the appropriate notation on their official transcript.

Upon successful completion of all requirements, the student will have knowledge:
- To display sophisticated knowledge of core concepts in anthropology, especially those aspects of the field related to medical anthropology.
