*Students who demonstrate proficiency in Korean at any of the required levels may have the corresponding language course requirements waived. These waived language courses will not count toward the minor but must be replaced with other Korean language or Korean language-related courses to bring the total number of courses to six and the minimum total number of credits to 18.

Learning Outcomes


Upon successful completion of all requirements, the students are expected to:

  • Intermediate level proficiency in Korean in the four areas of listening, speaking, reading, and writing,
  • Cultural knowledge and understanding desired for the target level of proficiency.
  • Intercultural communication skills.
