Pharmaceutical Sciences BS/PharmD


Admission Criteria


  • Minimum GPA of 3.000 in all prerequisite science courses
  • Minimum overall GPA of 3.000 required
  • Minimum GPA of 3.000 in the required third year pharmaceutical sciences courses

Academic Requirements


  1. Earn minimum grade point averages
    • Prerequisite science and math GPA 3.000
    • Overall GPA 3.000
    • Each Pharmacy PharmD prerequisite course must be successfully be completed with a grade equal to, or greater than, C (2.000)
  2. Submit an application through the Pharmacy College Application Service (PharmCAS) during the fall of the junior year, no later than October 1.
  3. Upon invitation, complete a formal interview.

  4. Selection is based on scholastic achievement, aptitude, personal qualifications, and evidence of motivation toward pharmacy. In addition to intellectual and academic competence, the Admissions Committee considers communication skills, leadership ability, community service, health care-related or research experience, and motivation for pursuing a career in pharmacy.

Upon successful completion of the BS/PharmD requirements, the student will have knowledge to:

  • Demonstrate a strong comprehension of fundamental scientific principles in the pharmaceutical sciences
  • Demonstrate a basic proficiency at effective scientific oral and written communication skills through:
    • presentation of an original oral podium presentation based on their undergraduate research project.
    • completion of scientific research term paper based on their undergraduate research project.
    • synthesis of an original poster scientific presentation based on their undergraduate research project
