Admission Criteria
- Academic good standing within an approved major within the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences.
- Completion of 45 total credit hours (at UB or elsewhere). Note that students may apply to the program while registered in courses that will bring them to 45 total credit hours.
- Minimum overall and UB cumulative GPA of 2.500 required. Admission will be limited to 25 students per year, and therefore the GPAs of admitted students may be higher. When demand exceeds capacity, the overall academic history of applicants will be considered in admission decisions.

Other upper division courses related to human factors/ergonomics may be accepted, subject to the approval of the minor advisor. Total Credits Required for Minor: 20-22

- 2.000 minimum GPA in minor courses.
- A maximum of three courses from your UB Curriculum, major(s), and/or other minors can be applied towards the Human Factors Minor. Anything beyond three shared courses will need to be excluded by your Academic Advisor.
Learning Outcomes
- Understand and describe current theories, methods, and design principles related to human factors and ergonomics.
- Identify, formulate, and solve problems in the areas of human factors and ergonomics.
- Apply appropriate theories and methods to analyze and design human-technology systems which are safe and effective for people to use and operate.
- Communicate effectively about human factors and ergonomics engineering problem solutions, and system designs.
