Prospective students wishing to pursue the Honors College requirements must meet the Honors College Admission Criteria.

Course Requirements

Honors Seminars (3 credits)

Honors Experiences (17 credits)

Students must select and complete additional credit hours of at least two honors experiences from the following list before graduation (to reach the required total of 21 honors credits)**:

Notes

*School of Engineering and Applied Sciences majors and School of Architecture and Planning majors must complete HON 214 and one of the following (major dependent) : EAS 199 , AED 199 or CSE 199 .

**A maximum of 6 credits (equivalent to 270 hours) will be granted in any one petitioned Honors Experience.

Academic Requirements

A minimum of four honors credits must be completed by the end of the first year (earned through the Honors Colloquium and the Honors Seminar) and 13 credits total must be completed by the end of the third year to maintain good standing in the Honors College.
Must maintain a 3.300 undergraduate UB Grade Point Average (GPA) during the first year.
At least a 3.500 undergraduate UB GPA in each successive year to graduate with an overall UB GPA of 3.500.
