Exercise Science BS - Pre-Physical Therapy Concentration/ Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT)

Admission Criteria


  • Must be a current Exercise Science major in the Pre-Physical Therapy Concentration
  • Complete all prerequisite coursework
  • Minimum prerequisite GPA of 3.000 

Current students wishing to pursue the combined Exercise Science BS - Pre-Physical Therapy Concentration / Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) must apply to the DPT program during year three. Enrollment is limited. Visit the DPT program admissions page for more information.

Academic Requirements


Students must maintain an overall undergraduate GPA of ≥ 3.000 to be eligible for admission to the graduate DPT program. Students failing to maintain this GPA requirement may remain in the Exercise Science BS - Pre-PT concentration program, but will not be eligible for admission to the graduate DPT program. Undergraduate students must apply to the DPT graduate program in the Fall of Year 3. Refer to the DPT Admissions website for details.

Program Distinction


A student in this major is eligible for Program Distinction upon degree conferral if the criteria are met. Criteria are found under Academic Honors in the Policy and Procedure section of this Catalog. Program Distinction is noted on the official transcript.
